A Wesleyan Chapel For Denaby Main.
Yesterday afternoon half a dozen memorial stones of new Wesleyan Chapel were laid Denaby Main by the following, who contributed the sums stated :
Mr. Caleb Kilner, £70 ; Mr. J. ; Mr. J. Rose, £50 and Mr. Brocklesby, Mrs. Soar, and Mrs. Turner, £10 each. The Rev. Pearson (Doncaster) explained that the land and £100 was generously given Mr. A. Montagu, of Wetherby; £100 by the Denaby Main Colliery Company, the total sum received being £1,000, and £230 more was promised.
The chapel is to cost about £1,500, and to accommodate 500 persons.
After the stonelaying, the Rev. Thomas Allen, Chairman of the Sheffield District, gave lecture on “ Social questions in relation to Christian work.”
