Accident at Cadeby Colliery

A somewhat serious accident occurred at Cadeby Main colliery, on Wednesday evening at about 5 o’clock.

The flange attached to the pulley wheel at number one up cast shaft was badly fractured with a consequent automatic of the drawing at that particular shaft

This is the more unfortunate as the disabled shaft is by far the most important of the two erected at the colliery.

The afternoon men desirous of returning to the surface were compelled to make egress by means of number two shaft, this necessitating a climb of 200 yards.

The work of repairing the damage, or rather of providing a new wheel was at once commenced and the loss was make good on the subsequent day.
