Accident at Denaby Main.
Yesterday, Mr. H. S. Whitty, the assistant manager at the Denaby Main Colliery, met with a serious accident and narrowly escaped with his life.
The unfortunate gentleman was surveying in the mine when a ” fall ” took place, burying him. Immediately there was a second heavy fall. It was found, however, that a large stone had fallen in such a mapper as to protect Mr. Whitty.
His back and some ribs were, however, injured, and he had to be conveyed home in the colliery ambulance.
