Accident at Denaby Main Colliery

A serious accident befel a miner named Joseph Scott, who resides at Clay-lane. Mexborough, and who is employed at the Denaby Main Colliery.

It appears he was in the act of getting some coal down after it had been undermined, when suddenly there was a fall of roof.

When extricated it was found that an arm was broken, and that he had received serious injury to his back.

He was conveyed to the Mexborough Montagu Cottage Hospital, and attended to by Drs. Sykes and Beck.
