Accident At Denaby Main Colliery.
Fatal Result To A Mexborough Youth.

On Friday, John Warren, of 88, Loversall Street, Denaby Main, was admitted to the Mexborough Cottage Hospital, suffering from a fractured thigh, sustained by a fall of roof occurring, whilst following his occupation as a dataller in the Denaby Main pit.

He is under the treatment of Dr. A. McCall of Conisborough.

On Tuesday morning a pony driver named John Grindle, aged 15, residing with his parents, at 18, Garden Street, Mexborough, succumbed to injures received the previous evening, at the same colliery.

According to the account given by the boy himself, he appears to have lost his light, and got crushed under a run of empty tubs through being in the dark.

The matter will form the subject of an inquiry before the corner, to be held at the hospital, this (Friday) morning.
