John Shepard, collier, Barnsley was charged with assaulting William Allison, labourer, Conisborough on 20 September 1886
It appeared that the complainant was employed by the landlord of the Hill Top In, to keep the door at a flower show.
Defendant wanted to enter, and when complainant stopped him he struck him and knocked him down.
Defendant absconded, and had been found at Barnsley.
He was fined 50 shillings including costs.
