Pilot Now
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Pickett, of the Poplars, Stainton Street, Denaby Main, have received the cable from their nephew, Mr. Lesley’s Seward Dearling, who is in Canada, to say that he has now passed as a pilot officer.
He went to Canada to complete his training with the rank of Corporal in the RAF, which he joined in 1936. Pilot Officer Dearling is well known in Denaby. He was educated at the Maltby grammar school and later at Mexborough secondary school. He has lived with Mr and Mrs Pickett since his early childhood.
He was before enlistment a teacher at the Parish Church Sunday School.
