Missing At Arnhem

Mr. and Mrs. Gibney, who at one time resided in Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main, and now live at Leeds, have received intimation that their youngest son, Signalman James Gibney who was known in the district, and who was serving with the 1st Airborne Division at the battle of Arnhem, is reported missing.

Sig. Gibney joined up in 1939 and in 1940 he was among the men to be evacuated from Narvik.  Afterwards he saw service in the Middle East and took part in the invasion of Sicily and Italy. He is 29 years and before enlistment was employed on the L.N.E.R.

His brother, who resided at 4, Ravensfield Street, Denaby Main, lost a son on active service a short time ago.
