Died Of Wounds

Mr. and Mrs. Kelly of 21, Cadeby Avenue, Conanby, have received news that their youngest son, John, has died of wounds in South Africa on March 7th.

Mr. and Mrs. Kelly have known for some tine that their son was wounded, but they had no idea of how or where he sustained his injuries.  He had been in the R.A.F. for 2½ years and was 23.  Before he was 18, he joined the Navy but had to come out when his true age was known.

He had worked underground at both Denaby and Cadeby Collieries, and prior to enlisting was employed on the Colliery Company’s housing scheme.
