Personal – Jim Rands
Conisbrough friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Rands, of Oldcoates, near Worksop, formerly of The Elms, Low Road, Conisbrough, will be interested to hear that their son, Jim, now serving with the Fleet Air Arm on the high seas, celebrated his 21st birthday on Thursday.
Jim is an old pupil of Conisbrough Modern School, and was a keen member of the Church Boys’ Club when the Rev. T. B. Croft was at Conisbrough. He has been in the Service for two years.
His father served throughout the last war with the Motor Transport Company in France.
He worked at the Sickle Works before leaving for Oldcoates, where he is now in the motor trade, this reverting to his pre-war job, when he was employed by Nicholson and Co., Doncaster Road, Conisbrough.
