Promotion.
Mr. G W Spurr, second son of Mr. and Mrs E.D. Spurr, of 15, Bolton Street Denaby Main, has gained a commission in the R.A.F.
Pilot Officer Spurr, prior to the war was employed by Messrs. David Haigh and Co., who, along with their employees will be glad to learn of his progress.
Some time after leaving school he took up private study, and was later granted leave of absence by Messrs. D. Haigh and Co. to enable him to enter a training college for teachers.
He passed his examinations, and had hoped to qualify for the teaching profession, but the war made that impossible for the time being.
