Alleged Assault

Skits and Blows at Denaby

Ada Shentall, married woman, of Denaby, was summoned by Lizzie Price for assault at Denaby on the 15th inst.

The complainant alleged that she was going down the street when the defendant commenced “skitting,” and finally struck her. She then went into the house and fetched a peggy stick, and would have used that had not some neighbours warned her.

The defendant alleged that the complainant broke open her door and entered the house, along with her husband, and used bad language, in addition to striking her on the shoulder with the sewing machine lid.

The Bench dismissed the case, the Chairman stating that the complainant and her husband had no right to enter the defendant’s house.
