Charge against Conisborough Clerk

On a charge of having inflicted grievous bodily harm on his wife, Millicent Hague, on November 30, Denny Hague, clerk of Conisborough was at Doncaster on Saturday remanded for 14 days, bail being allowed.

PC Lund said he arrested prisoner that morning, and cautioned him and charged him with inflicting grievous bodily harm on his wife are striking her on the nose with his fist on November 30.

He replied “ I have nothing to say.”

Witness added that he saw Mrs Hague at the police station about 11:30 PM on November 30. She was in her nightdress and the coat, without boots or stocking. She was bleeding profusely from the nose and her nightdress and coat were saturated with blood. She was in a very distressed condition, and later she was attended by Doctor, who inserted three stitches in her nose.

Mrs Hague was now in the Fullerton Hospital, and would not be fit to attend court for at least a week.
