Alleged Cruelty To Mare.

Warrant Issued For Denaby Man.

That the case was a very shocking one of cruelty was stated by Supt. Minty at Doncaster on Saturday when he asked for a warrant for the arrest of a Denaby miner, James Morley, single, who failed to put in an appearance to answer a summons of ill-treating a mare at Conisborough on Dec. 12th.

The warrant was granted.

Isaiah Thomson, a Conisborough greengrocer, said he visited the mare’s stable in the evening of December 12th and on leaving had locked the door. At 11 p.m. he went to feed the animal and found the door open. He went in and found Morley there acting in a cruel manner towards the mare.

When witness questioned him about it he said he had gone in the stable for a night’s “doss.” The mare was in great pain.
