Alleged Discovery of Dynamite at Denaby Main

On Saturday morning a person employed by the Denaby Main Colliery Company discovered two small packages containing a substance closely resembling dynamite, concealed in an old cast iron pipe which was lying in the colliery yard.

A great amount of uneasiness was occasioned by the discovery amongst the officials.

The material was wrapped in paper which was labelled “Dynamite.” Nothing more can be obtained concerning the circumstances from the officials, who are extremely reticent on the subject.

At the spot where the explosive was found it would not be likely to cause any serious damage.
