Alleged Thefts by Boys.

At the West Riding Police-court, Doncaster, John Carlin, 13 years of age, belonging to Sheffield, was charged with stealing a silver watch, value 30s., the property of William Davidson, glass blower, Conisbro’.

Prisoner took the watch out of Davidson’s waist- coat pocket while the waistcoat was hanging in the workshop. The watch was afterwards found pawned at Sheffield.

Prisoner, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to have twelve strokes with a birch rod.

Thomas Wilson, 14 years of age, was charged with stealing a pair of boots, value 4s. 10d.. the property of Joseph O’Keefe, of Bradford. Prosecutor and prisoner lived at the same house at Conisbro, and prisoner made off with prosecutor’s boots.

The prisoner was committed to gaol for one month.
