Alleged Threats and Intimidation at Denaby.

Nelly Gough, married woman, Denaby Main, was charged with using threats towards Ann Mayall of Denaby. Complainant begged to have the defendant bound over.

Mr. Hickmott defended

Complainant deposed that on the date in question she was in her yard, accompanied by her mother, when she was accosted by the defendant, with whom she had a quarrel. She immediately commenced to threaten her in terms couched in the most threatening language. She was in bodily fear of the defendant doing her harm.

Mr. Hickmott: did your mother hand the defendant stick and tell her to do what she meant to do?

Witness: no.

After conflicting evidence the Bench decided to bind the defendant ever in the sum of £5 to keep the peace for six months.
