Alleged Wilful Damage at Conisborough

James Conroy, miner, Conisborough, was charged by George Wagstaffe, with having done wilful damage.

The complainant said the defendant deliberately made a gap in a hedge of his field, in order to pass through, doing the damage complained of.

The defendant emphatically denied the charge and called witnesses Mary Jane Whitehead and Annie Elizabeth Taylor, who said the defendant got over the gate and did not go through the hedge ; that the gap was made by the complainant himself.

The case was dismissed.
