Amateur Pugilists at Conisborough

Patrick Martin Myers and Thomas Benton, both minors, the form of new Conisborough and the latter of Denaby, were charged with having committed a breach of the peace by fighting at Conisborough on 30th June.

PC Jenkinson stated that on the date in question at 11:50 PM, he was on duty with PC Glitthro e in Doncaster Road, new Conisborough, when he saw both defendants fighting in a desperate manner.

PC Glitthro corroborated.

Myers pleaded guilty, but Benton not guilty, allegedly had been not down by Myers.

The Bench ordered both defendants to pay costs, 13 shillings and bound them over in the sum of £2 each to keep the peace for six months.
