The successful Denaby Main Number 1 team, Messrs B. Henson, J. W. Scales (captain), G Williams (instructor) C. P. Milner and A. Platt.

There was a very close finish at Dinnington on Saturday in the ambulance competition for the Jackson shield, organised by the Yorkshire Amalgamated Collieries Ltd. when Denaby Main Number 1 team were successful, defeating Dinnington by one point. This was the third occasion upon which Denaby had won the cup. They were the winners on the first two occasions the cup was competed for in 1931 1932, while Dinnington carried up the trophy for the next three years. 10 teams took part in the competition on Saturday from the following colleries: Dinnington, Maltby, Rossington, Denaby and Cadeby. The judges were Dr D. Hart of Armthorpe, Dr J. M. Haine of Doncaster and Sergeant Major A. Seaton with Mr A. Pacey, secretary.

The winning team were congratulated by Mr B. H. Pickering (chairman) agent of the Denaby and Cadeby Colleries. The team was B. Hanson. W. Scales, C. Milner, A. Platt and G. Williams instructor. Mr L. C Hodges, managing director of the Yorkshire Amalgamated Collieries, presented the shield and prizes to the Denaby number 1 team and to the runners up. Consolation prizes were presented to Denaby number three.
