An Expensive Good Friday Drink.
At Doncaster, on Saturday, Thomas Griffin, labourer, and Ernest Logan, miner, both of New Conisborough, were each ordered to pay £1 for being found on licensed premises, the Station Hotel, Conisborough, on Good Friday.
P.c. Cousans said there were about 200 in the hotel club-room, and defendants tried to make out that they were bona-fide travellers, but they had not come a distance of three miles.
