All teams used the same formation:
1
Goalkeeper
2 3
Right Full Back; Left Full Back
4 5 6
Right Half Back; Centre Half; Left Half Back
7 8 9 10 11
Outside Right; Inside Right; Centre Forward; Inside Left; Outside Left
This more or less continued until 1953 when Puscas and the Hungarians came.
There were no substitutes, floodlights and the offside rule was different too – there had to be 2 defenders and the goalie between the player and the goal line when the ball was passed to him !
