An Incorrigible Denaby Lad
Samuel Peplow, son of a Denaby miner, was charged at the West Riding Police Court, Doncaster, where he had been twice previously convicted of theft, with having stolen 4d. from the shop of Mrs. Cockayne, Denaby, on Wednesday week.
Prisoner went into the shop and took the 4d. from the counter, upon which it had been laid by a customer in payment of an article.
He received six strokes with the birch-rod.
