Improved Returns
The annual meetings of the Denaby and Cadeby Collieries Ltd., and of the Maltby Main Colliery Co. Ltd., were held in London yesterday, Major J. H. Leslie presiding.
At the meeting of the Maltby Main Colliery Co., it was stated that the profits amounted to £39,291, showing a balance for the year of £3,641, which is deducted from the loss brought forward of £4,154, reducing the debit balance of profit and loss account to £513.
Mr. K. R. Pelly and Mr. Harald Peake, retiring directors, were re-elected.
The accounts of Denaby and Cadeby Main Collieries, Ltd., showed profits amounting to £286,822, and a balance of £9,535, to which is added £21,747 brought forward. The sum of £12,000 is applied in payment of a six per cent. preference dividend for the year, leaving £19,282 to be carried forward.
The directors reported that the property of the company had been maintained in a good and efficient state throughout the year.
Mr. H. M. Stobart and Mr. F. J. Dundas, retiring directors, were re-elected.
