Another “Iron “?
A likely Denaby lad who has made his presence felt in the local prize-ring lately is J. T. Spooner, aged 18.
He is seen in the centre of the ring, during a contest at Mexborough last Saturday with a Barnsley boy, who is beginning to “rock to sleep.”
Spooner took up boxing only nine months ago. Since then he has had eight fights and knocked six men out. He has not had a “sleeping draught” himself yet, but was forced to retire from one of the fights with an injured hand.
