Denaby Stung By Equaliser.
Denaby United 3 Holbeach United 1
Not until midway in the second half did the Good Friday Midland League game between Denaby United and Holbeach United really spring into life.
Denaby scored an early goal and looked to be cruising to victory. Then a Holbeach equaliser stung the home team and they hit two goals in as many minutes.
Denaby had the advantage of a strong wind in the first half and dominated play for most of this period. Holbeach showed they were capable of constructive football, but were not as quick as Denaby.
Holbeach were behind after 4 min when Gray took advantage of a bad backpass to step in and beat goalkeeper Cooling. Fox, who had harassed the Denaby defence from the beginning got his reward with a goal in the 67th minute.
This Denaby’s two into minute spell came within 10 min from time. In the 80th minute a great shot rebounded to Hall, who scored. 2 min later. Denaby were awarded a penalty for hands and a blockbuster by Foster gave Cooling no chance
