Asleep in the Denaby Pit
For having been asleep in the mine at Denaby pit on December 23, Robert Bennett of Denaby, had to pay 30 shillings inclusive.
A deputy said that he had been asleep for 10 minutes.
Mr Allen said that it was a very dangerous thing to do. The rules provide that each stall must be in charge of the qualifying miner, and in this case, as a result of the defendant been asleep, only a filler was in the stall.
