Assault And Refusing to Quit at Conisbro’.
John Coulson, glassblower, Conisbro’, was charged with assaulting George Smith, landlord of the Station Inn, Conisbro’, and refusing to quit his licensed premises, on the 11th inst.
Mr. Smith said he was landlord of the Station Inn, at Conisbro’, and on Saturday, the 11th inst., at 3.30 p.m. defendant was in his house and he asked him to go out, and he would not do so.
Witness then got hold of his arm to put him out, whereupon defendant took hold of his (witness’) coat collar and neck, and pulled him about. He eventually went from the house, but returned again, and was stopped at the door by witness.
Another witness confirmed the evidence of the landlord.
Fined 10s. in each case.
