Assault At Conisboro’.
Joseph Gwatkin, a filler, of Conisbro’, was charged by Sarah Ann Davies for assault at Conisbrough on 21 June.
Complainant stated that on the previous Saturday night she went to see her son, and whilst in his house the defendant in and started a row. He threw a vase at her, which hit her on the bead, and made a very big gash, which bled for a considerable time.
Defendant also struck her several times.
He was a violent man and she was afraid of him.
The defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay the costs, and be bound over in the sum of £5 to keep the peace for six months.
