Assault at Conisboro’
Jane Hassall, a married woman, of Conisboro’, was charged with assaulting Annie Elizabeth Butter, of the same place, on the 25th July.
Complainant said on the Saturday night the defendant and her husband came to witness using very bad language, threatening to ill-use a man named Cooper.
Witness afterwards went to warn Cooper, and defendant then came and badly ill-treated her.
Edith Cusworth corroborated, and said defendant had Mrs. Butter on the floor, and was knocking her about.
Witnesses separated them, and sent defendant out of the house.
A fine of 5s. and 21s. costs was imposed.
