Assault at Conisborough.

Alfred Ackroyd, filler, Conisborough, was summoned for assaulting Emily Jane Ackroyd, his sister-in-law, at Conisborough, on November 7th.

t was stated that compliant lent her pony to defendant and his brother, in order to help the defendants pony to pull a dray up the hill.

Defendants commenced thrashing the ponies, and compliant remonstrated with him, and he struck her twice.

Defendant pleaded provocation and she said compliant put her hand in his face, and all he did was push aside.

Defendant was bound over to keep the peace, and ordered to pay costs.
