Assault At Conisbro’
At the West Riding Court at Doncaster yesterday Mr. A. J. Bettell had before him William Dagnall, of Denaby, charged with assaulting a married woman named Mary Ann Murphy, at Conisborough, on Saturday night.
Complainant was going home when prisoner stopped her, and, because she would not go with him, he assaulted her, and she was taken home in a fainting condition. Police-constable Jarvis was attracted by hearing a woman scream, and saw several men running away, and, though he pursued them, he failed to catch them.
Prisoner was apprehended on a warrant and remanded, being admitted to bail until Monday.
