Assault at the Denaby Colliery,

At the Doncaster West Riding Police Court, on Saturday. George Wallis, enginewright Denaby Main Colliery, was fined 30s including costs for having assaulted Arthur Kidney, foreman fitter at the Denaby Main colliery, on February 7lth.

The evidence  showed that a dispute arose between the parties respecting the number of rivets used in the erection of certain plant.

Defendant dismissed the complainant, and when the latter told him his brother was as much a gentleman as he (defendant) was the reverse, defendant struck him several times.

The defence was plea of provocation.
