Denaby Assault
At Doncaster West Riding Court Today Patrick McDonald, Miner, Conisborough, Was Charged with Assaulting John Scott, who Is Employed As a Casual Waiter at the on the 6th inst.
Defendant rang the bell in the smoke room, and when the waiter went to him, he refused to serve him as he was in drink. He used bad language, and complainant was walking out of the room when the man struck him in the mouth and knocked him down.
He also threatened Mr Gibbs the landmark. Mr Gibbs said those cases were becoming more frequent, and he wanted an example making.
Defendant was fined 40s or 14 days to prison and his wife urged him to accept the alternative.
