Assault in the Mine

A quarrel between two pony-drivers was brought to light when Michael Cain summoned Harry Mangham, of Denaby, with assaulting him on Sept. 18th.

Mr F. Allen prosecuted, and said that he bad teen instructed by the Denaby and Cadeby Colliery Company. The facts were these: The complainant had charge of a door leading to some stables. The defendant had absolutely no right to go there, and because the complainant stopped him he hit him a rather severe blow.

The complainant bore out this statement, which was corroborated by Sidney Dobson, another pony-driver.-

Defendant admitted the offence, but said the complainant would not let him pass.

Ordered to pay 40/- inclusive.
