Assault On a Policeman at Denaby

Jas. Cryan and Bartholomew Toolan, of Denabv, were charged with assaulting Police Constable Kendall at Denaby, on the 13th inst.

Mr. Parker Rhodes appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. Hickmott for the defence.

The latter applied for a remand to allow of some important witnesses to appear for the defendants.

Mr. Rhodes raised no objection to this course being pursued, but stated that one of the men was in possession of a pass for America.

The Bench remanded the defendants for a week in custody.
