Assault on the Police.
John Davis, labourer, Denaby, on Saturday appeared before the West Magistrates at Doncaster charged with assaulting Police-constable Jarvis on 18th inst.
The constable is set to watch at Cadeby, and finding prisoner asleep in a cabin he woke him up and asked what he was doing there. Prisoner made no reply, but struck the officer twice and a struggle ensued, prisoner being eventually locked up.
He was drunk, and said he did not remember what he did. He was committed to prison for a month.
