Assault at Denaby

 John Smith was charged with violently assaulting and beating Henry Hodgkins on July 22nd at Denaby.

The complainant said he did not wish to press the case. Prisoner’s friend had agreed to pay expenses.

The Chairman asked if there was nothing but expenses, and no compensation.

The complainant replied there was none.

The prisoner was discharged.

Threats at Denaby.

James Laing, of Denaby, summoned Patrick McDermott, also of Denaby, for using threats on Saturday, July 22nd.

The complainant said the defendant had threatened to take his life.

The bench decided to adjourn the case for a few weeks.
