Back to Conisbrough to Teach.

Miss Gillian Myers, formerly a teacher at Conisbrough Station Rolled School, was been teaching in the South of England for the past two years, and returned to teach at Morley Place, the school at which she, herself, was educated.

Miss Myers, who is engaged to a Buckingham research worker, took up her post on Monday.

Her parents, Mr and Mrs John H Myers, live in Morley place. Miss Myers was a student at Mexborough Grammar School after she left Morley Place Junior School, and she was trained for teaching at Brighton.

Her fiance, Mr Lawrence Dickens, of Woburn Green, Buckinghamshire, is a member of Mr Vivian Fuchs’s expedition to the Antarctic.

As a pianist and recorder player. Miss Myers will take part in developing the junior schools “new musical tradition.”

She succeeds  Miss Valerie Brown, of Dale Evans Avenue, Conisbrough, who is joining the WRA F and was formerly a teacher at Denaby Balby Street School.
