John Oates, miner, Denaby, was fined 6d. and costs for not sending his daughter, Mary Ann, regularly to school.

The girl had attended 55 times, out of a possible 80.

John Wright. Denaby, was also fined 6d. and costs for not causing his son, Joe, aged 12 to go to school more regularly than 41 times out of a possible 80.

Enoch Pearson, Denaby, was fined a similar amount, his son, William, only having attended 60 times out of 80; and Isaac Gough was also fined 6d. and costs his child only having attended 47 out of a possible 80.
