Badly Crushed Foot

On Tuesday morning October 16th 1906, at the Denaby Main Colliery, a sixteen year old pony-driver, named Frank Pendlebury, was conveyed to his home in Beaconsfield Street, Mexborough, suffering from a badly crushed foot.

The injured boy was engaged on the morning shift, and about nine o´clock on the day in question, caught his right foot in the endless-rope, causing the injury already related.

Assistance was at once obtained and subsequently the injury was treated medically, the doctor remarking that the bone had narrowly escaped being broken.
