Baptist Church
The annual business meeting, tea, and public meeting of the Baptist Church were held on Wednesday and yesterday. There was general progress to report with a net increase of nine members. The church suffered severely through the deaths of Mr. Joseph and Mr. Ralph Marsh, both of whom were great workers and local preachers; and of Mr. W. Worrell.
There was a Sunday school membership increase of 75 per cent., and the Junior Christian Endeavour had 48 members after one year. In recognition of 35 years’ faithful service, Mr. Francis Taylor was elected a life deacon. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Irad Webster, who consented to continue as treasurer, an office he has held for 26 years. Mr Arthur Race was appointed a deacon. The resident minister (Rev. E Kemp) has been in Conisbro’ only 14 months but his ministry is proving valuable.
