Sam Kennedy.
Barnsley’s new experiment.
Sam Kennedy, the former Denaby United footballer and cricketer, who terminated his engagement with Fulham FC this week, is to lead the Barnsley attack at Clacton on Saturday.
Kennedy turned out with the Barnsley team in the Yorkshire mid-week league match yesterday and scored the only goal of the match for Barnsley. Afterwards, we understand, he was selected to play in the Second Division match on Saturday against Clapton Orient.
Kennedy was transferred to Nelson a couple of seasons ago when he was showing excellent form with Denaby United in the Midland League competition and scoring many goals from the centre half position.
Later he was transferred to Fulham, with whom he was playing in a junior league match against Leicester city last Saturday. He was acting as captain of the Fulham reserve team.
