Being on Licensed Premises – Summons Dismissed
Sarah Gledhill, single woman, Mexborough, was charged with being on licensed premises, the Castle Inn, Conisborough on April 8th.
Sergeant Brown said he visited the Castle Inn in company with Inspector Ambler, and found defendant in the club room.
Inspector Ambler recognised her as being a Mexborough woman.
Inspector Ambler gave corroborative evidence, and said the Castle Inn was less than 3 miles from where the defendant lived.
The defendant said she took some children to Conisborough with her on Good Friday, and when they wanted something to eat she took them into the Castle Inn. There was a board at the club room entrance, which said: “This way for sandwiches.” She had nothing to drink.
The bench dismissed the summons.
