Betrayed By Military Bearing

Thomas William Croxforth, of the Second Northumberland Fusiliers, stationed at Sheffield, was charged at Doncaster, yesterday, with being a deserter.

Police-constable Richards was attracted by his military bearing, and followed him along Doncaster Road, Denaby, on Sunday night. Croxforth attempted to evade him, but said “The games up,” and admitted that he was a deserter.

Prisoner was ordered to await escort from his regiment.
