Birch Leaves Chesterfield for Denaby United.

Supporters of Denaby United will be pleased learn that Denaby have signed on Arnold Birch, the well-known Chesterfield goalkeeper.

Birch is an experienced and class goalkeeper, and rendered fine service to Chesterfield for several seasons. Last season he was the regular first team goalkeeper, and, during his service with Chesterfield, had the remarkable record of playing 170 consecutive matches in the first team.

He will be welcome acquisition to Denaby, who so far this season have found difficulty in securing satisfactory successor to Bromage. Birch was formerly with Sheffield Wednesday
