Birdwatching in Spain.

Conisbrough Man’s Eventful Holiday

When Mr. J. Griffith, of Station Road, Conisbrough, went on a sightseeing and birdwatching holiday in Spain he and the rest of a party of 40 nearly came to grief in the trip along the coast.

In a choppy Mediterranean the parties 40 ft. boat only just managed to reach their home port.

Another boat of similar size, which was behind them had to put into shore before reaching its destination.

Mr. Griffith returned last week. He stayed at Blanes near Barcelona and made various trips from there into the countryside.

He paid a visit to Montserrat, a famous monastery 8000 ft. Up in the mountains.

Unusual birds he saw included two classes of warblers, the Sardinian and Rufus warblers, and two classes of tern, the red backed shrike and the whiskered tern.
