Birdwatching.

Mr. Griffith the Station Road dentist went on a birdwatching outing with Rotherham Naturalist Society to Roach Abbey on Saturday.

He saw a buzzard , a bird of the hawk family, rarely seen in these parts. Its usual habitat is Wales or Scotland.

Mr. Griffiths said that the birds were increasing in numbers in Wales and the one he saw was probably a stray from there. It is a first time for 10 years he has seen a Buzzard in the area.

Rotherham naturalist Society are again starting their lectures and Mr. Griffith is to give one. Open to the public, in November.
