Takes Over at Conisbrough Next Week

British Railways, Eastern region announced the appointment of Mr R.S.Lama, station Master Birdwell to the position of station master, Conisbrough.

Mr Lamb commence his railway career as a junior Porter at Croft Spa in 1926 and became the signal lad at Northallerton in 1927 and a Porter Signalman at Moorthorpe in July 1929.

He transferred to Arkwright town as a single man in September 1929 and subsequently served in that you Warmsworth, Quorn, Dunford Bridge and Leicester. He entered the Station master grade at Saxham in 1944, moving to Elton in 1945 and Habrough in 1948.

In December 1950, Mr Lamb was promoted to the post of Station Master and Goods Agent at Dronfield and in May 1953 became station master at Birdwell and Hoyland.

Mr Lamb will commence his new duties at Conisbrough on Monday, March 18.
