Blind Organist

William Davies, the blind son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Davies, 56, Balby Street, Denaby Main, received news on Wednesday that he had passed the L.R.A.M. examination.

He has been a student at the Royal Normal College for the last 4 years. Last year he gained the A.R.C.O. He returns to the College on Friday after a fortnight’s holiday.

This blind organist gave a recital at the Parish Church about two years ago, and Mr. E. Dabbs, the church organist, then predicted a promising future for him. The parish church organ has been placed at his disposal for practice when he is at home.

Willie Davies is now 19 and has been blind since the age of three. His blindness was caused by a stone thrown by boys in a street game.
